Ship project history: This 130ft Yarrow design was basically similar to TB79, but with a 'turtle back' forecastle. They were not initially a great success, being so lightly built that they had to be strengthened soon after entering service.

Modernizations: 1900s, all: were reboilered with water-tube boilers

Naval service: TB84 sank in the Mediterranean after a collision with the destroyer Ardent 17/4/1906.
